What TikTok live likes are, and where viewers see them

A live like is a tap on the screen during a TikTok LIVE. Each tap sends a heart floating up the side of the stream, and the stream’s like total climbs with it. Viewers can tap as often as they want, which is why a busy stream looks busy: hearts keep rising even when nobody is typing.

That makes the hearts the cheapest sign of life a stream can show. A new viewer who drops in sees them before reading a single comment. A stream with no hearts at all reads as a room where nobody is paying attention, even if a few people are watching quietly.

Live likes are a different thing from the likes on a video. Those stay on the post for good and are covered by buy TikTok likes, with a video link and a 30-day top-up. Live likes only exist while you’re broadcasting, and they land on the stream itself.

Why you have to be live before TikTok live likes start

Live likes go to your account’s LIVE, so there has to be one. When you press start, Socialbot asks TikTok whether the account is broadcasting right now. If the answer is offline, or TikTok’s answer isn’t clear, the instance doesn’t start and nothing comes out of your allowance.

That check is deliberate. A like sent to a stream that has already ended is a like wasted, so we would rather refuse than guess. If you get the message that you’re not live, give TikTok a few seconds after going live and press start again.

1. Go live on TikTok from your phone or LIVE Studio, as you normally would.
2. Open the account in your Socialbot dashboard and press Create instance.
3. Pick Live likes and set the amount. There’s no link field: the stream is found from your @handle.
4. Press Start instance. You have one minute to stop it for free, then the first hearts arrive within 15 minutes.

Going LIVE on TikTok has its own entry bar. As of 2026 it’s usually 1,000 followers and an age of 18 or over, though the number has varied by region. The details are in how many followers you need to go LIVE on TikTok.

How many live likes to start, sized to your stream

Size the amount to the time you’ll still be live. The top pace is 30,000 a day, which works out to about 1,250 an hour, and it’s a ceiling rather than a promise. Starting 10,000 for a 40-minute stream asks for more than the stream can take while it’s running.

Then check the number against your room. We don’t sell TikTok live viewers, so the viewer count on your stream is whatever it really is. A stream with 25 people watching and hearts pouring in at a steady rate looks like a keen crowd; the same 25 people and 20,000 hearts in an hour looks like something else.

A 90-minute Sunday cooking stream with 30 to 50 viewers is a good shape for 1,500 live likes started ten minutes in. That keeps hearts on screen for most of the stream and leaves 3,500 of Starter weekly’s 5,000 for two more streams that week.

Live likes and live comments come from the same TikTok plan

Every TikTok plan carries live comments as well as live likes, and both follow the same rule: they only start while you’re broadcasting. Starter weekly includes 200 live comments next to its 5,000 live likes, and live comments also start within 15 minutes.

They sit in the same allowance as your video services. Starter weekly’s 5,000 live likes don’t touch its 1,000 video likes or its 10,000 views, so a week of streams doesn’t eat into the videos you post between them. The full list is on our TikTok growth service page.

TikTok live likes prices, plan by plan

Starter weekly is $9.99 for 5,000 live likes every 7 days, about 0.2 cents a heart before you count the seven other metrics in the same plan. Monthly plans carry four times the weekly amount for 30 days.

Pro weekly ($24.99) carries 15,000 and Elite weekly ($89.99) carries 50,000. On monthly billing that’s 20,000 on Starter ($34.99), 60,000 on Pro ($94.99) and 200,000 on Elite ($349.99). The one-time $4 trial runs for 12 hours with 1,000 live likes, enough to try it on one stream.

The allowance is shared across every TikTok account you add, and it resets to the full amount when the period ends. Streamers who need more than Elite can add a one-time custom amount on top, explained in custom plans. Every platform’s tiers are on plans and prices.

TikTok’s rules on bought LIVE engagement, and what we can’t promise

Buying live likes isn’t illegal, but TikTok’s Community Guidelines don’t allow services that artificially inflate engagement, and that covers LIVE as much as videos. TikTok can remove engagement it judges inauthentic, and action against an account is rare but possible.

Expect some of the hearts to drop afterwards, up to about 10%, and there’s no top-up on live likes. The stream is over by then anyway, so the moment they were for has already passed.
